Dr. Jessica deSouza has been practicing dentistry for 10 years. She attended Yale University and obtained a B.A in Economics. While in university, she interned in the Mergers and Acquisitions Group at Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette (DLJ). She continued on to work as financial analyst at DLJ in the Technology Investment Banking Group. Dr. deSouza completed a Post Baccalaureate at Columbia University and obtained a DDS at Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine. She also completed a General Practice Residency at Veteran’s Administration Brooklyn Hospital. She is a member of the American Dental Society and NYS Dental Association. She participates with Osseoinstitute Study Club, Bayside Periodontics Study Club, and Women to Women Dentists. Dr. deSouza also volunteers with God’s Love We Deliver, Jan Hus Urban Outreach Center and Dental Lifeline.

Laser whitening and Zoom whitening is offered at JDental as a way to quickly and affordably whiten teeth by up to 10 shades. Laser whitening is a cosmetic dental procedure used to brighten teeth. This procedure uses lasers/heat lamps to speed up the teeth bleaching process. First, dentists cover your gums and soft tissue with gauze and your lips with SPF lotion to protect these fragile areas from damage. Next, a bleaching gel with hydrogen peroxide is placed on the front of your teeth. When the heat is placed on your teeth it activates the hydrogen peroxide in the bleaching gel, removing stains from the enamel. In just an hour you will leave our office with noticeably whiter and brighter teeth. The typical procedure applies heat in the form of lasers or a lamp to your teeth in three fifteen minute sessions.
